Which Reminds Me

Yes, I do not understand what you are expecting me to do about something. There you are, head full of Pollack riddles that only you know the answers to, and you seem to be expecting me to pull a rabbit out of a hat. This is an unreasonably weird and arbitrary demand that I, not having studied the magician's art, cannot hope to satisfy. I am just saying, I don't know much about that.

Which Reminuds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember that we thought it was funny when you asked us how many Pollacks does it take to screw in a lightbulb, and we answered that we did not know how many, and then you told us the answer, which was some ludicrous number required to implement the tedious, overwrought strategy thus implied. I rarely try to retell these jokes because by now I forget the punch lines. I was surprised later to hear you chastising us for laughing at your own jokes.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I also do not think it seems fair, in a way, that some lottery winners may have millions of dollars in the bank, who did not do anything to deserve that. And yet the lottery system was instituted by the powers that be, by the various state governmental institutions and agencies created to administer that, and it really is not my place to say what those lottery winners should be doing with their money. I think that if I were to win the lottery, I too would want the privacy to make my own decisions about how to spend my winnings, free from interference from you nosy busybodies.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember that much later, someone was saying that Jim was known to be living with some woman I never met apparently without benefit of matrimony, so one tends to assume that these people are gone away in their backslidden ways and there is no reason for me to be calling them back later. I don't necessarily need my brilliant mind to be tarnished by association with that.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember that someone was making a prolonged commentuary about that book by Nathaniel Hawthorne, The Scarlet Letter, the display letter being an A, but as I was saying at the time, I cannot honestly say that I have read that book, although I may get around to doing that eventually, neither have I read the House of the Seven Gables, even while being a proficient player of Authors card game, but anyway, whatever, I think that my mother may have read the Scarlet Letter, but it sounded depressingly predictable. so many books, so little time. I probably have also read some books that you have not, needless to say.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I do not understand all of this chatter about your private "Remain in Mexico" program. On our way driving back through Mexico, after our first furlough, we dropped off our nasty Mexican maid and are not anxious to more from her on the backend of that, needless to say, but I don't want to be forced to be rude to these poor Mexican people, so don't be asking so many impertinent, irrelevant questions.

Which brings up the interesting point discovered while reading great-grandmother's diaries of a secret meeting held in California with the nasty Mexican maid, my great-grandmother, and my aunt and Vanessa. What is this secret agreement that they made between themselves? Perhaps you should be shipping the Warren family home to Mexico, because anyway, whatever they were talking about, that had nothing to do with me.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, come to think of it, whatever happened to Jim Loring, who was Michelle's friend, not mine?

I once had occasion for some reason to be giving him a ride in my car to church in my car, and at that time he expressed to me his profound cynicism about all matters religious. He thinks that pastors are only that way for professional reasons, not because they care, or something along that line. So that was sort of Jim's cynical view of things. I really do not wish to discuss these complicated matters with such a superficial cynic as Jim. He does not seem to be very serious about anything. It is better to just ignore his idiotic stabs at humor.
