Yes, that was so rude of Carmen to try to throw her miserable life at me. Ulises was her boyfriend, not my problem. While she is ascending to U.S. citizenship, I was expected to go live in Caribbean misery that she left behind. And also there was that lecture about the extreme legalism of the Mayan culture, not really for white people. So that was her idea of an exchange program, not really mine. My feeling would be to rebuke them for trying to put a Caribbean hex on me, and intruding upon my personal life, among other things, but then again they are church people so what do I know. I am not allowed to say what I really think about that.
