Which Reminds Me

Yes, in perusing the annals of history, we notice that Alice Tempest-In-A-Teapot (1520-1595) was married firstly to Christopher Place, by whom she had about six children. After his death she became the second wife of Walter Strickland by whom she had another set of children. So, my grandmother being a Strickland, are we descendants of Alice or of another branch of the Stricklands? In early America the records get a bit sketchy, so we really don't know, or at least I don't know. For what do I need a sketchy "Place" holder who pretends to monopolize all of the benefits of life? Definitely we do not belong to the "Place" family, of at least that much I can be fairly certain.
