Which Reminds Me

Yes, that would be so much simpler, if you could just put a bullet through my head and of course aim well so that it would be all over in an instant, almost painless and very fast. Don't need your half-baked job, however.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I hope you didn't waste a lot of money hiring a private detective to pose as a co-worker of mine only to collect information on poor little me. He even mentioned that he moonlighted as a private detective, but why would I be the target of that? The ridiculous thought did cross my mind actually, but then again why would anyone go to that much trouble to investigate boring me? That would be useless.  Ridiculous.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I seem to vaguely remember that Jane Seymour is only an actress, not really the queen, although who knows what queenly roles she might have played in her long career. Right. I don't remember who was pounding on this point or why.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, it was somewhat mystifying to ponder why I would have any need of this bellicose belligerent bulldog Meshelle always screaming in my ear on a regular basis, much less her vicious broomstick guardian Dana. I am dropping you off the edge, don't you call me, I never answer my phone.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I know, it must be so awkward for you, glued forever and eternity to that silly nitwit, while at the same time I am free to be me and not you, free and flexible for whatever the future may bring along while you are not. Thanks for stopping by for a few moments, but you seem to have completely forgotten your previous expressions of rotten attitude and the sense of relief that we felt when we finally dropped you off in Mexico where you belong because you are not be coming with us later. Needless to say.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, here I am out of high school, having carefully avoided and escaped entangling myself with those vicious nasty political people, and there you go shoving them back in my face again. I was glad to be rid of them and then everywhere I go I see their vicious nasty shadows lurking about. Why is no one dissecting the sick minds of those vicious nasty Italian witches? I am certain only that I am completely not informed of their wicked evil doings behind my back. I myself am only a distraction from what is really going on elsewhere.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I know, it is always so awkward for Mr. Wright, always having that big fat stupid "W" (Double-U) in front of your name. Needless to say.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember years ago reading that book, "The Rules," and although I thought that it had some good ideas, yet I also thought that it was not a contract to be signed until time for the actual ceremonies, I am not sure that we have the same goal in mind, and the Christian books of that type usually don't phrase it quite that way. There will be no early-bird deals with the Devil. Like my Dad always said, you would need to use your head for more than simply a hat-rack, but life is complicated.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, and if you are playing only the Stewart game, you could get a free ticket to Pioneerland, which may have some interesting features there, including some unexplored connections to Puerto Rico, but of course I am not included in that deal, we already heard that, don't need to be reminded, but of course the Baptist Bells and Reeces would be hard-pressed to understand, because that was a whole different story for another time and they never asked.

But we are progressing in time and what we know now is not the same as what we knew then. We cannot go backward in time and pretend to be little children watching simplistic TV shows. We have to prepare and be ready for something else that is coming up down the road.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I agree that I am being manipulated and agitated, as if I would even know what you are talking about or have anything to say about that when all the time I thought it was your mental issue, not mine, initiated by yourself.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, ha ha ha? Are those trashy Italian bimbos presuming to lecture me on topics of morality, while they themselves are the most repulsively stereotypical example of the stupid Catholic slut? How dare you sit there chattering about dogs and doctrines in the same breath, you repugnant Italian swine! You stink!

Which Reminds Me

Yes, everyone tries to ignore or not draw any attention to Violet, because everyone knows that she has long since made it known that she doesn't like it when people stare at her in that weird way, because she has a rare eye condition, although I heard that she was having eye surgery to correct that, so maybe she doesn't have that problem anymore, which is a happy thing for her, so obviously any reminders of that would not be welcome, needless to say, so I just won't say anything at all about them.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, if anyone is overdue for some serious brain surgery, that would be that blithering idiot Mark Johnson and his brother Tim and his little dog Carol Garlic. Who are those people anyway? They blither and blather as if I should "do" something about that, and there is really nothing to do.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, and who is going to pay my salary and benefits while forcing me to mingle and taint my brilliance by association with such repulsive deaf-mute creatures? That would be a thankless job and/or task, to be sure. It just wouldn't be worth the effort for me to even try to do step that far down, as has already been more than amply demonstrated. Why are you asking me? I only have a few years remaining and then I am leaving, thanks for the parachute.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I can see that you are getting all of your information from the vulgar Irene, although the picture is not clear in my mind. They all look the same to me, it is hard for me to tell them apart when they are all talking that stupid way.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, what was the name of that woman who stormed the platform, saying that she had a word from God to deliver? Pastor Max blocked her path and very soon the elders were escorting her out of the side door. I do not remember whether she ever returned.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, in regards to this matter of my running for class office in school, I liked better the way I did it in high school, where I had my name removed from the list of nominees. That saves me a lot of stress and hassle when I already know that I cannot win and also I really do not care that much about being popular, I was never that type of person to be bothered.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember during high school that someone made a snarky comment about Kathy and her brother. Now was that a legitimate complaint of some type or was that a politically motivated dig? Sometimes one does not want to dignify these little remarks by repetition inviting further elaboration, needless to say.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember, not so many years ago, reading great-grandmother's diaries and learning of the existence of her distant cousin May Stewart, who married a citrus farmer in California and perhaps her many generations of descendants still live there. Myself not being previously aware of the existence of these people, was a bit surprise to learn of them, but apparently the relations is so distant that they are never mentioned to us probably for good reason, because we really did not need to know that. For whatever reason it was not considered of any importance to mention their existence to us. She also had a cousin in Pennsylvania who she describes visiting in Pennsylvania. So that was interesting, but probably all of those people are dead by now so there is probably really nothing very interesting to find there now after so many generations of extreme social distancing to such a degree that I did not know of their existence.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, it is true that no one has ever randomly patrolled restaurants, I don't understand where that fiction comes from, it's a free country, you may order pork chops or fried things if you want to. I could not care less about that.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember that years ago, after we had lived eight years in El Salvador, my parents were invited to go to serve in Honduras but their answer was, "NO.' It seemed to problematic by that time for them to go back again due to the circumstances of us being in college or getting established afterwards, so we never did to go Honduras.

And what part of NO does Honduras not understand? That is never going to happen.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, that does make me wonder who is speculating on my possible political ideas behind my back? Who are these nameless and nondescript persons, that I should be bothered to discuss anything of a personal nature with their anonymous nothingness and thus can be easily shrugged off as useless persons of no interest to me.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I seem to remember that during high school in the 1970s we were shown that interesting film, "Chariots of the Gods," based on the book by Erich von Daniken, a book that I had previously declined although recommended by my cousin David, but having later seen the movie, who knows, maybe someday I could go back and read the book after all, when I have the time for that, although probably one can imagine that the book is probably along the same lines, and while sometimes the book supersedes the movie, at other times maybe the movie supersedes the book and actually shows the pictures of what he is talking about, sort of. So that was a controversial topic at that time, and probably still now, as to how to theologically interpret this new science of archaeology and historical interpretation in a way that is in harmony with Scripture, and perhaps adding new insights into the original text, rather than trying to tear down the foundations of the faith willy nilly, which is a concern of course, and certainly a topic for some important and brilliant persons to ponder eventually, in the future, for centuries to come, although I don't see what that has to do with me. Ok, so I saw the movie.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I do remember hearing that one of our high school classmates lives in Israel, but I do not remember talking to her during high school because also she never talked to me either, so what's to say. Besides which, it became obvious during high school that the Italians are assuming charge of all of these diplomatic matters concerning our U.S. relations with Israel. For these reasons, I would recommend that you direct all of your questions about Ronit to the Italians Joan and Kathy, who are the appointed Italian diplomats in charge of explaining whatever I don't know anything about. Why should I stick my neck out, only to have it cut off by Italians? Why should I bother? Let Kathy and Joan and Heather explain to us all of the riddles of the universe, because I really don't know anything about it.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember one time when we crossed the border going into El Salvador from Guatemala, near the border crossing a soldier stopped our car and asked for a ride. So that was sort of interesting. We gave him a ride for probably not more than half an hour and then dropped him off some place where he needed to go. I don't remember him being talkative but he was a peaceful person, not shooting us with his gun or anything like that. So that was no big deal. Sometimes persons are called on to do these deeds of courtesy and, Ok, so, fine, that wasn't really too far out of our way. It wasn't like we had to take him home with us and feed him or anything like that.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember that my late and departed Uncle Art is mostly remembered as having worked as a bus driver. Whether he also worked as a police officer I really have no idea. I was barely acquainted with those relatives, so don't be asking me questions about them that I cannot answer. To tell the truth, I really don't want to be bothered. We weren't there most of the time so we cannot be expected to remember things that we did not know.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember that someone was expressing concern about the poor unfortunate wretches of Puerto Rico, although I cannot imagine why. Although they are not yet a state, probably half of their population already lives in the United States anyway, so, ho hum! That is nothing for me to worry about.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember the time that the Lindvall kids were in town and we went over and watched television with them. Karen was so funny and her brother explained to us that she has this special knack for making these funny comments about the shows. What were we watching? Bonanz? I seem to remember that they had a color TV over there. We were at the Bueno house but I don't remember them being there. Maybe their maid Chavela would remember that, but I heard the she died a few years ago so it would be too late to ask about that now.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, it is true that I might not be as quick-witted as Karen Lindvall in Washington state, maybe I am very slow, but after a while it becomes obvious that those snarky jokers are all eating out of the same trough anyway. Ho hum! So what if I am not impressed with their nonsense? That's not a rebellion, that's just the sound of me winning eventually. It doesn't matter when I win, only that I win eventually, because we have to give them space to repent in sackcloth and ashes eventually.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember that nearly the entire time that I lived in El Salvador, following the Soccer War of 1969 of El Salvador vs. Honduras, we could not travel by car through Honduras because that border was closed. Before that we had once driven through a piece of Honduras on our way to visit some friends in Nicaragua, but after 1969 that could never happen again. There were many hard feelings between the two countries due to the various military operations, even though it was a short war. They turned the electricity off for a week so that the darkening of the city at night, after 6 p.m., might foil the Honduras bombers who might be flying about. There actually was some type of disturbances of that nature during the way, although I don't remember the details of that.

More recently, it was a bit shocking to learn that some Honduran people are expecting me to involve myself in these petty, mundane internal conflicts of these little banana republics. I can only imagine that it is a very complicated matter. Needless to say.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, it is somewhat mystifying why I should care about those dreary Honduran people. They are just wrong, and trying to fix their empty heads would only make matters worse, when I only want to be free and clear of their nonsense. I could say something similar about those Mexican people that I met in California, they know who they are. I can't begin to explain what their problem is, when I am only congratulating myself on not being one of them.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I heard them saying they do not want my ideas. I hope that means that they are confirming my journalism career path, because often one starts with one idea about how a story will be and then later, after having actual facts, one has to be flexible and able to adapt to the reality of what the story actually turned out to be, not what was firstly imagined.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember one day I was in a music classroom across the hall from where my actual class was, quietly waiting for something, I don't remember why, I was not usually there, and suddenly Sharon and Warren were there in that room talking about Diana Ross and the Supremes. It was a very detailed analytical review of some performance of hers in stunning detail. What did they say? I cannot even remember one specific thing about that, but they did seem very advanced in being able to discuss such  matters that never would have crossed my mind to mention, thus I would not want to embarrass myself by trying to replicate their conversation in any way because I really have no idea what they were talking about.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember that those Chilean people who we visited, all they wanted to talk about was Catholicism and the Pope, so it soon became evident that probably it would be a waste of time to try to explain to them about evangelicals and various other matters that would probably be of no interest to them. We categorized them as throwbacks, because we threw them back into the water from whence they had briefly appeared, although there could be other meanings to the term "throwback," needless to say.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, who were those people from Chile who we went to visit in El Salvador, only because probalby we were asked to and felt obligated for some reason, and then all I hear later is whatever I said used against me, which, Ok, so maybe there are some things that I wish that I had not said in the first place, but at least we are now alerted to never speak to those people again ever.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I am trying to remember whether I still owe Laura $20 for that tea kettle that I left on the stove, burner on, during the two or three months that I rented a room there. Sorry about that. I don't have their address now so I would not know where to send it. Even so, to tell the truth, it was a relief to be rid of them after finding somewhere else to live and never intending to ever look back at that tiny little horror show by some persons I really don't like. Needless to say.

Thursday, September 3, 2020

Which Reminds Me

Yes, it is somewhat mystifying to ponder why the dreary snobs of Vogue New York would imagine that they would have anything intelligent to say about this matter. We have seen your ridiculous notions of fashion and thus we already know are all out of your minds. Needless to say. No reason to pay for nonsense that I can browse Seventeen magazine for free at the high school library.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, what's the matter, is the information flow getting a bit sparse up there in Jill and Linda Gossipland? How will they ever get the message when you continue to talk over the fact that they no longer have that much new information to pay with anymore? I am just saying.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I should be more grateful for knowing how to read and for all of these magazines and other printed matter from which I learn so many things that are really not my problem, but always good to know enough to keep things in proper balance and perspective.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember one time in El Salvador, when I was maybe 10 or 11 years old, at some girl's birthday part, someone brought a Ouija board, about which I was admittedly a little bit curious, and looked at that, and they explained how you are supposed to move that thing around the board to the letters of the alphabet, and I decided that did not make any sense, because you could point out whatever gobbledy-gook random nonsense, or make that thing say whatever you want and who could say what was in your wicked head. So I might have said something to that effect and they always hated me forever after because of my not taking to the Ouija board.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, interesting how many of these little tidbits sort to attach to Linda Harrington. I am just saying.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, I do vaguely remember that it was Laura who was claiming to play the role of Abishag. Whether and how that was ever verified, I have no idea. I do not want to be hearing more noise from those people. It was a very short time that I was there and I have been gone for a long time now.

Which Reminds Me

Yes, it is important to know what I know, thus to avoid being in any way dependent upon persons who I do not trust for anything. They produce only the lousy profits of Baileywick, which means that we watch them trying and trying, and yet see how there is nothing to "do" about that. It really does not matter that I was not included in the many private parties of the "five" clique. They went camping and spent the night all sleeping together in one tent and probably only they would know the intimate details of that, and even so I really do not care about learning more about that. They just don't matter.
