And who is going to remember the time in high school, during Miss Marken's class, when we were discussing whether there is any sound at all produced if a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to hear it? I tend to think that sound waves were produced by the crashing tree, but there was no ear there to hear that, so the potential for sound was not fulfilled.
