Which Reminds Me

Yes, I vaguely remember Mrs. Walker saying that they are dropping me off somewhere, sort of a way of saying not to expect anything from the Walkers, the Walkers will not be putting out the welcome mat for me. Oh, and I had completely forgotten about the Walkers. Who were the Walkers? The only Walkers that I had ever heard of were living in Peru earlier, but now who knows where the Walkers are scattered about on the globe. Given that I was not expecting to hear from the Walkers anyway, it does seem odd that the Walkers would go out of their way to disassociate themselves from me so forcefully, given that on my own I never would have thought of contacting them anyway. What is Peru? What is Chile? What is Argentina? What is Ecuador? Those of the South America region doubtless have diverging notions about how things should be or should have been done, but anyway, whatever, it is too late now to rewrite history. Anyway, if the Walkers want to think of Peru as the gold standard for how things should be, they are entitled to their own opinion. She wrote a book, "Peruvian Gold." Whether or not we are of another opinion is beside the point in this matter.
