We hiked to the top of the Boqueron volcano, which takes about four hours of steep uphill walking, which will mean sore leg muscles for a couple of days afterward, and then several people decided to do the extra hike of climbing down to the bottom of the crater, which takes another hour or two. Carol was one of them. She challenged me to race her, but I declined to participate in a race to the bottom. I had had enough climbing already. Not to be mean but I really don't need to be making some cheapskate points about bottom feeders, so I saved my energy for the walk home.
