Yes, I vaguely remember that during high school in the 70s that puka shell necklaces were quite the fad, and also it was sort of rare to see a person wearing a tie-dye T-shirt because it was not so easy to find that mass produced, you had to get a bucket of dye and do it yourself, and so I never did that.
