Which Reminds Me

Yes, in addition to the discussion of freckles, these Spanish also want to draw connections to the region of La Mancha, renowned as the setting for the novel by Miguel de Cervantes, about Don Quixote, although I really don't see the connection. So the Spanish word "mancha" may be translated as stain or blotch. Even so, I do not see how the condition of having freckles can be so flippantly compared to the existence of black-and-white polka-dot cattle so characteristic of some places. And I could also probably think up some other analogies if I wanted to give myself a bigger headache than I already have.
