Yes, did I inadvertently disqualify myself from that New York job that I never applied and never wanted? I hope that you learned your lesson to never recommend me for anything so ridiculously non-applicable behind my back without me having thought of that. True, there are always all those many people who applied and lost, only to serve as contrast for the one winner who rises above the pack. But obviously it has already been predetermined that the winner will not be me. Didn't you get the memo? How many failed job applications can one person handle before giving up in utter despair?
