Which Reminds Me

As a small child I remember my grandfather McClellan telling me the story of how George Washington as a child chopped down the cherry tree and when confronted with his wrongdoing, was forced to confess because "I cannot tell a lie." George Washington's devotion to telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth propelled him to the presidency of the United States. And wouldn't I like to make such a vow? Well, I cannot say wholeheartedly that I deserve to try to fill George Washington's shoes. I cannot remember, when did I lie to you? We never even talked so obviously that never happened.
