Yes, I vaguely remember that Carol Long was my boss for a couple of years at my first job after college. And then I left and went somewhere else, and I heard later that Carol was eventually fired after she had proposed her own promotion to a high level of executive, which notion seemed appalling to the Hoskins. And after that it was heard that she was working at the phone company, in a great job, so sometimes if the Hoskins do not like you, it is not the end of the world. They must step aside and admit they had nothing to do with Carol Long's ultimate success, themselves being only a small roadblock and a nuisance to her.
