Yes, I was noticing that a certain Brazilian writer of a hundred years ago or so, writing in Spanish, was describing and/or caricaturing the president of Chile as a colorful parrot. Given that a bird's beak in Portuguese is a bico, not, as in Spanish, a pico, perhaps he was making a point that made sense to him in his Brazilian context, even if the rest of the world is not quite following the logic of that moment.
I prefer not to involve myself in these political conflicts of a regional nature, given that one never really knows which political leaders will arise or when they will fall. Better to anchor one's soul to the rock that never changes, to the rock that is higher than I.
