Yes, I vaguely remember that during high school, probably my senior year, that we, our family, assisted with the adoption of a local baby boy, given to a couple in the state of Washington. During the adoption process, the baby boy was kept at our house for about two weeks, while the paperwork was being done and the couple preparing to come and get him. During those two weeks, we learned something about the care of babies, how they must be burped, their diapers changed and so on and so forth, about how when you take off the diaper sometimes there is an accidental spraying so you have to be careful about that. So that was interesting. I do not quite remember all the logistics of how all that happened.
We later heard that they returned there a few years later, we were gone by then and someone else helped them to adopt a baby girl, his sister, from the same mother, but we were not involved in that. I doubt that our name would be on any adoption papers, so there is nothing that we can say about that. We were not planning to charge the mother for dumping all her children on us, because anyway, adoption is for families who can handle these matters, so I do not see what else there would be to say about that.
