Which Reminds Me

During the soccer war between El Salvador and Honduras in 1969, we were living in San Salvador and there was a citywide blackout for about one week. At about 6 p.m. the electricity was turned off and stayed off until the next morning. In the evenings of that week we would sit on the terrace listening to the shortwave radio. On the news it was saying that the first lady, the wife of the president of El Salvador had left the country with a suitcase containing all of the money of the country. Then we dialed around on the radio and found a broadcast from Honduras. The news there was saying that the first lady or wife of the president of Honduras had left the country with a suitcase containing all of the money of the country. From which we learn that during wartime both sides of the conflict are sending out the same propaganda messages. But don't involve me in that because w were probably still there on a tourist visa, not having a residential visas until the second term.
