Yes, I remember that my Dad has often explained about how my Dad's Uncle Merritt was a bitter man who refused to forgive his father and even refused to have anything to do with this own father. Nothing good is expected from Uncle Merritt. Grandpa Calkins, on the other hand, was a person who did forgive his own father and took care of him in his old age, so that is what we are supposed to be doing in terms of our Christian duty.
