Which Reminds Me

Yes, I always did think that it was weird the way our publisher and our editors all go into a raging furious lather at the mere mention of Bill's name. Puzzling. Why should I have a special attitude about Bill? Bill Who? Why should I care about Bill's not necessarily unusual political aspirations? Lots of people do that all of the time. I had never heard of Bill before then, and then they are expecting me to gratuitously add their own derogatory comments about Bill to whatever, even though there was no rational explanation for that except that they hated him. It was a personal thing for them, but for me I was trying to do my job. It was embarrassing to see my byline attached to their jumble of junk. I do not want to be remembered for that.
