Which Reminds Me

Yes, what was the original question? You were asking me to comment on this warped story that was being circulated about how we had somehow denied our castle to little Stevie Bueno, which somehow became the spark that inspired the Castillo Del Rey project. The truth is completely different than that which was being circulated. One evening the Buenos and maybe some other people were all over for dinner at our house and somehow the subject came up in the conversation of the McClellan castle, and how although it is a foggy reminder of ancient times for many McClellans in America, actually in those times my Mom said, laughingly, that we would only be the maid, if lucky enough to live in the castle, because in feudal times it was only the big shot who lived in the castle, and everybody else was a dependent or serf or bondservant in the feudal sense. So that was the only thing that I can remember about that conversation, that the castle idea is a laugh. And furthermore, if you do the research you will see that there is really nothing left of the McClellan castle but the outer walls, no roof, nothing inside, and if any tourist can go there for a guided tour if you pay the price and show up on time, probably. So nobody was trying to disappoint little Stevie, but reality is what it is.
