Yes, I remember that shortly after returning to El Salvador for our second term, I would have been about 12 or 13 years old, we were with our friend Susie, walking back to her house from another place, and there was a pack of rioting people parading down the street carrying signs of protest and yelling. We quickly ran into a nearly furniture store and hid there while the parade of rioters passed by. Easy for you to blend in with this mob of rioting thugs and walk past them unnoticed, but for us white girls it was more scary than that.
