One can easily assume that O. Cope Budge was a very famous professor at our college as the library is named after him. Even so, I doubt that you can hold Budge responsible for all of the contents of a college library. The library is a cataloging system devised for the numbering of books according to various categories, offering almost no value judgement as to which book is better than another. If the book is on the shelf, probably there is some use for it. Thus, a library in itself alone is a mindless collection of printed matter. The people who read the books and use them for research and paper writing are the persons who give life to the library.
Thus, whatever.
Budge was also said to have served as a missionary in India, although I really don't know anything about that. I cannot imagine why anyone would object to Budge. I once took a class from Budge at my college and thought that he was an excellent teacher, but what would they know about college? or India? Perhaps you should refer them to that literacy program that teaches people how to read, the advantages and utility of knowing how to read, etc.
