Which Reminds Me

Great-grandmother, in her diaries of the 1940s, often speaks of going to visit her cousin May Stewart, although actually it seems that her name might have actually been Mary. Mary Elizabeth Smith was the daughter of her uncle, Parks B. Smith, who was the brother of her mother, Nellie Smith, not to be confused with her uncle Edmund Smith. I don't see any other possible candidate for May other Mary Smith who married William Boyd Stewart and they lived in Upland, California.Their children included Milton, Harold, and Agnes.

On the other hand, Luella Mary Whetstone, daughter of Absalom Whetstone, was married to Allen Niefert Stewart, and her sons were Harold and Warren and Carl. They lived in Ontario, Calif., but later returned to Pennsylvania.

All of these people are came to California from Pennsylvania but the similarities seem to end there. I really don't see the connection. Thus, we are not related to the Whetstones, not that I ever would have thought to ask about that. I only read about this in the diaries.
