The story is told of my grandfather's McClellan ancestor, how he captured and beheaded a man, where potentially a dangerous criminal is not clear, whether a black man or gypsy is not clear, and went to the king of Scotland and tossed the severed head at the feet of the king, and for this he was raised to the nobility and given a title, was it Lord Kirkcudbright, and a coat of arms which featured a gory head with a pike drawn through the center of it.
Why should this ancient tale be so disconcerting to Trina Tinker? I really don't see the connection.
What does that have to do with Sam Houston's ancient grudge? I don't quite have all the pieces of that.
