Yes, I vaguely remember that Mr. Freund was my ninth grade science teacher.
Coincidentally, there was a large store in town called Freunds, possibly owned by the Freunds who were maybe Jewish although I would only be guessing to say that. Also in town was a large department store Simans owned by an Arab family. We were not particularly averse to shopping at either store.
More recently I vaguely remember someone saying that they were boycotting the Freunds store, which I really could not understand the point of that, so does that make you an Arab?
But the country is much changed afterthe lengthy civil war of the 1980s, and my memories of it might not be worth much in today's world, or have any point beyond making myself seem quite anachronistic, out of time and out of place. The world does not stop spinning there even when I am long gone, obviously.
